Onboarding EN

The Concept

Pianists are always seeking performance opportunities. Being booked for a concert by an external organizer is, of course, the ideal scenario! However, reality is often quite different.

Venues require rental fees, advertising is expensive, and the classical music audience is widely dispersed—typically found in significant numbers only in major cities.

With our new online concert series, we resolve most of these challenges, bringing pianists and a global audience together!

Thanks to sophisticated livestreaming technology—powered by the global market leader, Vimeo—the physical location of the performance plays only a minor role; the pianist can perform from the comfort of their own home, playing on their very own grand piano. The world’s time zones are catered to across three distinct segments: the Western Hemisphere, Europe, and the Eastern Hemisphere.

By encouraging pianists—once registered on this site (www.pianoforte.best)—to actively invite their own contacts to attend, we are rapidly building a vast social network of listeners that is growing virally into a high-caliber community of pianists. In this way, an ever-increasing number of pianists and listeners can share their passion for the piano through PianoForte.best !

ALWAYS live—never “canned”
ALWAYS with piano
Classical, Jazz, Chamber Music—also with vocalists!

  • To apply as a pianist, please send an email to pianist[AT]pianoforte.best containing the following information:
    • Your Piano Diploma/Certificate
    • URL of your personal website
    • URL of your YouTube channel
    • Fill out the contract at the bottom of this page and submit it via email, including the following:
    • Your proposed program (60 minutes in total, including brief pauses between pieces)
      • The program should be centered around a specific motto or theme—e.g., “Early Bach,” “Chopin’s Miniatures,” “Pure Romanticism,” or “Music from the Beyond.”
      • Your request for three specific performance dates—featuring the same program—selected from our Google Calendar. Please indicate one date for each of the following regions:
        • Western Hemisphere (UTC-5) — please specify as “No. 1”
        • Europe (UTC+1) — please specify as “No. 2”
        • Eastern Hemisphere (UTC+8) — please specify as “No. 3”
    • Your confirmation that you agree to the Terms and Conditions (including remuneration details) outlined below.

Terms and Conditions:

  • By participating, you assign your image and audio rights to the association DoctorsDome.center | Wolfgang Ellenberger,
    • including the right to further multimedia utilization of the material.
    • At the same time, you retain the rights to utilize the material independently and at no cost yourself. This saves you a significant amount of money compared to commissioning a professional video production company—you may consider this a form of in-kind compensation!
  • including rights for any further multimedia use of the material.
  • At the same time, you retain the right to use the material independently and at no cost yourself. This saves you the significant expense of a professional video production—you can view this as payment in kind!
  • You confirm your own registration as a subscriber (!), which allows you to follow concerts by all your colleagues with great interest! You also confirm that you will recruit subscribers prior to your concert date, enabling you to receive a fee amounting to 60% of the profits generated.
  • You agree to receive payment via your PayPal account (which you can set up for free if you do not already have one).
  • Fee:
    • We would like to pay you an appropriate fee.
    • In the initial phase, we primarily need pianists as active musicians to perform concerts and help build the platform!
    • It therefore makes sense for you to promote subscriptions in general!
    • Once we reach the second phase—with over 1,500 subscribers—we will be able to pay you a fee of approximately €1,800 for a weekend consisting of three one-hour concerts. This amount increases as the subscriber count grows.
    • Until we reach that stage, you will receive a share (60%) of the profits from subscription sales; this is paid out via PayPal one month after the concert (to account for the 30-day trial subscription option). In return for your involvement, you gain the distinction of having helped launch the platform and the opportunity to perform here repeatedly in the future—likely for a higher fee. This reflects the standard profit-sharing split between artists (60%) and management (40%).
    • Immediately upon signing the contract, each participating pianist receives a unique code and a corresponding link, which they can immediately share with their contacts worldwide. Every booking made via this link—using their specific code—is tracked and factored into their fee settlement. This independent tracking of sales allows the pianist to begin promoting the event globally right away, independent of other scheduled concert dates.

Technical Setup

As soon as we have scheduled a time, let’s hold a video conference via WhatsApp or Google Meet to test the technical connectivity of your signal.

If you are already able to log in to studio6 as a guest camera—using the Chrome browser (!)—via this link https://vimeo.com/live/guest/g5mi5ssf6ft with an HD video signal and a good audio source, then your onboarding is already complete! This process is explained in the video above starting at the 04:40 mark, or alternatively here:

Otherwise, please visit our new “Signal” page, where you will find specific tips and video tutorials covering various setup options.

It is important that you import the pianoforte.best concert calendar into your Google Calendar so that you have an overview of all concert times and can plan your concerts optimally. Here is the link to import the calendar, as explained in detail in the following video: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/u/0?cid=cGlhbmlzdHNAcGlhbm9mb3J0ZS5iZXN0
